I'm a bilingual journalist who's crisscrossed the country writing about a wide variety of issues for news outlets large and small. I've covered everything from education, criminal justice failures, and county governments, to real estate development, homelessness, art, and science.
In 2021, I became the inaugural Sharon Begley Science Reporting Fellow at STAT — a program created to train a new generation of under-represented voices in the field. Through the Begley program, I became part of the prestigious Knight Science Journalism Fellowship at MIT.
I am originally from Miami, but have lived in South Carolina, Boston, Santa Cruz, Calif., and Los Angeles. Currently, I write about chronic diseases for STAT and publish a newsletter called rummaging.
